Bronze lag screws are primarily used in areas where a bolt will not feasibly reach through stern glands, bearings and into solid wood areas. Measurements relate to overall length.
Units come with two nuts, so they may be locked together to form a head and thus allow a spanner to screw the bolt home.
Then nuts are backed off to allow mounting of the article and then put on to secure the article.
