Manual Ball Valve

These all have BSP threads to match all our plumbing fittings, skin fittings and tail pipes. Tru Design Ball Valves are designed and made in New Zealand for use in marine applications above and below the water line. They are IMCI & Bureau Veritas approved to ISO standard 9093-2 and are ideal for controlling inlet and outlet water requirements. They also pass survey for NZ survey vessels.

The bodies of these valves are moulded in a glass reinforced nylon composite material providing high impact and tensile strength, resulting in a light weight unit, free from corrosion and electrolysis. The internal workings are moulded in a Teflon enhanced polymer for a smooth action, also ensuring continuous ease of operation over many years.

Please note that the handle can be easily removed from all size ball valves if required during instillation by removing the cap which is the same colour as the handle and is next to the Tru-Design logo. Use a sharp product to flick it out then unscrew the stainless screw with a phillips screwdriver. Make sure the handle is replaced after installation.

If you are unsure what size you have - below is a guide

A 1/2" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 12mm) will measure a maximum of 21mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 18.5mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 13mm.

A 3/4" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 18mm) will measure a maximum of 26.5mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 24mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 18mm.

A 1" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 25mm) will measure a maximum of 33mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 30mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 25mm.

A 1 1/4" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 32mm) will measure a maximum of 42mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 39mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 32mm.

A 1 1/2" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 38mm) will measure a maximum of 49mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 45mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 38mm.

A 2" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 50mm) will measure a maximum of 60mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 57mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 50mm.

A 3" BSP thread (sometimes referred to as 75mm) will measure a maximum of 90mm on the outside of the threaded pipe, while the internal of the female end of the valve will measure 87mm. The flow capacity of the ball is a full 75mm.
