The latest in electric galley water pumps that have overcome all the annoying features of rubber diaphramed smaller pumps.
They have been designed with commercial boats in mind initially and now pleasure craft have demanded those same features.
The conventional rubber diaphragmed pressure pump on a larger craft suffers from a long delivery distances and the stop start of a simple pressure switch, triggered by a rubber disc within the pump. If someone turns on the pump for light washing or cleaning their teeth - the pump starts up, quickly achieves maximum speed (the only speed) and over supplies the water causing the user to turn the tap to a lesser flow. This in turn shuts the pump off and it "cycles" on - off - on - off, continuously. The patch over come for this was to install a pressure tank or accumulator tank, that simply held 2-8 litres of water and the pump would start up again once the 2-8 litres was used. Again the pump starts and cycle conitinues, be it delayed by the 8 litre buffer.
Marco of Italy have patented a 36 Litre per minute pressure pump that has an electronic brain that varies both the speed and the pressure to suit the demand of the users tap, shower or hose. So clever in fact, the user does not need an accumulator tank, nor a seasonally new pressure switch each year.
It is a gear pump, with PTFE gears, that will self prime (suck up) from 2m below the pump and produces up to 36 psi and of course up to 36 litres /min.
It copes with fresh water or salt water, is very quiet and accepts either 12 volt or 24 volt.

The UP12/E is a positive displacement gear pump with pressure sensor and integral automatic electronic control circuitry that delivers sustained water pressure and flow to meet multi-fixture demands.
The variable speed motor runs only at the required rate to maintain water demand — reducing noise and saving battery power, as well as wear and tear.
On-demand constant pressure is maintained, so there is no cycling, and no need for an accumulator tank.
Typical applications are fresh water pressure systems and shower systems on vessels and RVs, although the pump is also suitable for pumping antifreeze and diesel fuel.
At only 10" long, this pump is extremely compact for its output. It is self-priming and features quiet PTFE helical gears.
The UP12/E features an included 10 foot long plug-in cable which connects to an optional remote power control panel (PCS Power Control System) for remote monitoring and on/off pump control as well as restart after an overload or run dry condition automatic shutdown. See Accessory products, below.
