Life Raft disposable release unit designed to be a reliable function and trouble free installation. The units are made of solid stainless steel and UV- resistant plastics to meet the tough requirements of the marine environment. We have been advised these are suitable for passenger ferries rafts as well as recreational life rafts.
Made in Finland by Thanner and survey approved for fishing craft. They do not use the old yellow unit with a knife blade inside that used to deteriorate in salt and thus replacement was necessary every 2 years - these use a cast s/s pressure release avoiding rusting blades, giving a 4 year rating as opposed to many of the lighter weight plastic units.
