The latest in electric galley water pumps that have overcome all the annoying features of rubber diaphramed smaller pumps. 

They have been designed with commercial boats in mind initially and now pleasure craft have demanded those same features.

The conventional rubber diaphragmed pressure pump on a larger craft suffers from a long delivery distances and the stop start of a simple pressure switch, triggered by a rubber disc within the pump.  If someone turns on the pump for light washing or cleaning their teeth - the pump starts up, quickly achieves maximum speed (the only speed) and over supplies the water causing the user to turn the tap to a lesser flow. This in turn shuts the pump off and it "cycles" on - off - on - off, continuously.  The patch over come for this was to install a pressure tank or accumulator tank, that simply held 2-8 litres of water and the pump would start up again once the 2-8 litres was used. Again the pump starts and cycle continues, be it delayed by the 8 litre buffer.

Marco of Italy have patented a 15 Litre per minute pressure pump that has an electronic brain that varies both the speed and the pressure to suit the demand of the users tap, shower or hose. So clever in fact, the user does not need an accumulator tank, nor a seasonally new pressure switch each year.  

If your shower only wants 9-11 litres per minute then it will only deliver 9-11 litres per min and not over or under deliver, just as it does when you turn on the tap at the basin tap and then the pump will adjust automatically adding 2 or 5 litres to the 11 litres it is already delivering to the shower.

We use these where performance and reliability is essential as they are a professional item. The gears are PTFE thus avoiding continual wear that would be associated with metal gears.  And because of this the noise factor is less than a quarter of a diaphram pressure pump. 

It is self-priming (suck up from to 1.5 metres) and happy pumping 15 meters away. Has a maximum flow rate of 15 L/min (4 GPM) and will operate on 12V or 24V DC

It has electronic pressure control for automatic operation, which negates the pressure switch problem often associated with conventional Jabsco/Johnson pressure pumps.

It is of heavy-duty bronze gear construction for long service life and nickel-plated brass body with stainless steel shaft
