ANCHORS - PLOUGH
The well known Plough Anchor was developed many years ago & has proven itself over & over since. This is along the original lines with a hinging shank.
The plough holds well in sand, mud, coral, kelp, rocks & eel grass. They dig in right away on those bottoms and the harder the pull the deeper they plough in. Scope (or length of chain and rope) is key with a plow anchor. 3 - 5 times the depth is necessary in most cases. It will not foul no matter how it is dropped, regardless of how the vessel swings.
Despite its great holding it breaks out easily when steamed over and resets accordingly. If required a tripping line may be attached to the back of the anchor for suspect areas. Larger sizes available on request.
