Yanmar Sail Drive Zinc Anodes

At the time of writing, the smaller horsepower (18-35hp) Yanmar sail drive range made up of the SD20/30/31/40/40T/50/50T requires 3 types of anodes. With a sail drive being primarily aluminium and permanently underwater, it does require very close inspection on a more regular basis that that of a contentional shaft driven vessel. The consequences are horrific if left without regular inspection as the anodes themselves tend to be relitively small area and it is for this reason we suggest the use of Zinc anodes in this instance rather than alloy anodes in salt water.
The initial photo shows all the anodes that suit, and from there simply choose te one you want.
The main anode is the collar anode that fits in front of the propeller and is available in two formats, either single complete ring (18022B) or the separating ring version (18022A), (the separating unit allows you to fit the anode on without the removing the propeller, making it easier if replacing underwater. )
The next leg anode is the longer pencil anode that measures 20mm diameter x 50mm long with an integril M8 threaded stud. (18022C)
An additional anode is normally situated on the motor itself that measures 20mm diameter x 30mm long with an integril M8 threaded stud. (18022D)
